I love the right hand side of the page and think the colour scheme really works. I like the positioning of the text on the left hand side however I don't think that the image works with the colour scheme. I like the concept of having that striking image taking up the whole page but think that colours are too dull and don't really match with the house style of the rest of the magazine.
The image is weel-taken but I'm not sure it shows the same style and an identity for the artist as the first image seems to suggest she is kooky and futuristic but this is more everyday and laid back so we don't get that star quality or sense of musical genre. The layout is effective as is the image overlapping text although you could make the name of the mag or exclusive stand out some how. I think there is a lot of text at the top rather than a strong headline and strapline- maybe streamline this and put a pull quote in the main body of the interview? no drop caps here or other codes?
